Renting Skis in Crested Butte

Bringing skis to you :-)

Bringing skis to you :-)

When you get to Crested Butte, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to ski/board rental.

You can rent skis/boards in town or up the mountain at a whole variety of shops.

The advantage of renting up the mountain is that they will usually let you store your skis overnight - a great idea, except for the time this winter when they had a gas leak in the main building and no one could get to their gear - ironically for those of us who’d kept our skis at home, the slopes were open and lovely and quiet :-)

If you’re looking for backcountry gear I’d recommend The Alpineer..

Alternatively you can use a very cool set up called Black Tie ski rental who will bring your gear to you. Very civilized.

It really won’t cost you much more, especially if you follow this link to some great discounts.

We’ve crawled websites to find the best value tickets.

This year everything has changed. All the great deals that used to be out there have gone.

Now, your best bet is to go the Epic Pass route.

This is the official CB mountain website - passes are flexible in the sense that you can buy a 4 day pass and ski over a period of 6 days.

Here’s their claim

“Buy your lift tickets online and get the lowest price guarantee!  Purchase tickets 7 days or more in advance for the biggest savings. Purchase tickets up to midnight the night before you ski and still save money off the regular ticket window price.

If you discover a better price, just call our Customer Service Call Center at 1-888-216-8538 or 720-524-5024 - tell the representative where you found the lower price.”
